Duplex Scan or Scam?

Many doctors think that spider veins can be treated effectively by lasering or using radio frequency on a large feeding vein that may be shown to be incompetent on a duplex scanner. Getting rid of this vein using the newest techniques is expensive and completely unnecessary for the treatment of spider veins and small varicose veins. It is only done as another source of income for doctors who are performing unnecessary tests. Anyone who undergoes a duplex scan for spider veins has not been told the truth and is undergoing a test that is completely unnecessary. If abnormalities are found on that test, some patients are recommended to undergo a much larger, unnecessary procedure to treat their spider veins. This becomes an issue of malpractice.

No one needs a duplex scan unless they have large varicose veins. Spider veins do not need to have that test done at all.
