What is the recovery involved with the treatment of spider veins or varicose veins?
There is no recovery time after sclerotherapy. Often a patient will have a large bandage for a few days if large varicose veins are treated. Sometimes that bandage is followed by a pair of compression hose for another few days to squeeze veins after they have been injected.
Compression hose are not necessary after sessions of sclerotherapy for spider veins. A patient may have cotton balls and pieces of tape to put localized pressure here or there, but, in general, there is really no recovery time. The patient can go about their normal activity immediately after treatment.
