Dr. Mark Blumenthal is a medical pioneer for vascular conditions. After earning his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine, he became chief resident of general surgery at several St. Louis hospitals including Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. During his time in a hospital setting, he recognized the growing importance of treating vascular issues such as spider veins. It inspired him to study nonsurgical vascular treatments and to open the first non-hospital medical practice specializing in vein treatments in 1991. Since then, he has pioneered better ways to treat a variety of vein ailments by providing nonsurgical, outpatient procedures from his office.
